June 2026, Kota Kinabalu: BAS.MY Kota Kinabalu recently conducted a mobility awareness roadshow at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). The initiative was held from 15 to 17 June 2026 at Anjung Siswa, UMS, followed by additional engagement sessions on 23 and 25 June 2026 at PPIB UMS.
As one of the major education institutions in Kota Kinabalu, UMS plays an important role in connecting students to the city, and BAS.MY aims to support this mobility need by providing a more accessible and reliable transportation option.

Throughout the roadshow sessions at Anjung Siswa and PPIB UMS, BAS.MY Kota Kinabalu received strong support and positive engagement from the student community. The active participation from students demonstrated increasing awareness and acceptance towards using public transportation for their daily travel needs. This positive response also contributed to the improvement of ridership, particularly on the S01 Route, which recorded an increase in usage among students during the same month.

The initiative was supported by the Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar (MPP) UMS and their student engagement programme, City Siswa. The involvement and support from MPP played an important role in promoting the roadshow, encouraging student participation, and creating a stronger connection between BAS.MY Kota Kinabalu and the university community.

BAS.MY Kota Kinabalu remains committed to engaging communities and improving access to public transportation services through outreach programmes that support convenient, accessible, and inclusive mobility for all.
